After Mason's 1s...I agree with you wholeheartedly. After Mason's 1st Birthday and 75+ birthday guests, we decided every other year. We knew right away that he would not grow up to expect that kind of turnout and gift-getting every year. The more children we had, the further that got pushed. Our children have a "party" every year, but in their "off" years, it is only our immediate family. The great thing is both of our boys are born in the same month, so we have a great big party outside at the beach and the racoons get to clean up the mess! This year is not our daughter's year, so we're going to have a very small "tea party" birthday!!!
