Locks of Love

So... today I did it. I've talked about it for awhile but wasn't really sure I was gonna do until recently. I donated 10+ inches of my hair to Locks of Love. Its my second (or is it third) time but its been years.
A friend of mine had a "Cocktails and Curls" party at EM Studio Salon a few weeks ago. It was alot of fun. There was free food and salon services - who doesn't like FREE?!? While I was there for the party I set an appointment to get a haircut. I haven't cut it since uummm... September maybe. Anyway, as you can see from the picture... it was getting pretty long.
My stylist was Miss E... she was so cool. She had styled my hair at the party and I totally trusted her with my hair. I had brought in a picture of a cut that I liked. It had lots of layers and was a little longer than chin-length. This is what Miss E. came up with for me! I love it!
It was a little scary getting so much cut off. Isaac was really nervous about it. But I kept reminding him that its for a good cause! He generally is a fan of long hair and wasn't sure how he'd like it so short. I'm thankful to say that he does really like it... which is good because it'd have put a damper on how much I like it if he'd have hated it or something.

WHAT IS LOCKS OF LOVE?

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

If you or someone you know is interested in donating to Locks of Love please check out their website: www.locksoflove.org
