Paaarrrghty Time!

Wow... my oldest son is three years old! The time has flown by (mostly). What a special boy he is. What a blessing, what a challenge. I never really understood the love a parent has for their child(ren) until he was born. His birth was less than ideal but in that moment all I cared about was him. He was healthy and that made up for everything to me then. While he can be a real challenge sometimes, he is a very sweet and loving kid.
Sunday we had a party with our families. It was Pirate themed... I'd been gone most of the weekend so it wasn't too elaborate. But Nate and his cousin both got a goody bag to decorate (I ended up painting a treasure map on them, a telescope, a placemat that looks like a treasure map and they decorated their cookies with icing. It was a nice get-together.
Then yesterday we had a full day of activities. We went to an indoor playground with a bunch of Nate's friends for a few hours in the morning and had lunch there. It was really neat, we hadn't been there before but we'll definitely be going back! After naptime we went by Chick-fil-A for their Customer Appreciation family night extravaganza. It was so packed that we kind of just took a lap around the place, said hi to the people that we knew and left after letting Nate play for a few minutes with his cousin. We ended up eating dinner at Texas Roadhouse instead and it was so good! Nate got a cowboy hat and a badge. It was pretty cute!

Thanks for the comment on my blog! Our chick-fil-a did customer appreciation a few weeks ago...free milkshakes one day, a bounce house for the kids one day. We had a blast. Chick-fil-a is so nice and they really take care of their customers!

Good luck this friday dressing like a cow! :-)
